GNSS Commander ("we", "our", or "us") is designed to provide professional-grade Global Navigation Satellite System data. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This policy explains how we handle your data.

📍 Location Data

Your location data belongs to you.

  • Local Processing: All coordinates, altitude, speed, and satellite data are processed locally on your device in real-time.
  • No Server Uploads: We do not transmit your location history, saved tracks, or waypoints to our servers.
  • Track Recording: If you choose to record a track (GPX/CSV), the file is saved directly to your device's storage. You control where and how these files are shared.

App & Website Performance & Analytics

While we do not collect personal location data, we use Google Firebase services to ensure the app and website are stable and to understand how our site is used. This collects anonymous technical data.

We Collect (via Firebase):

  • Crash reports (stack traces).
  • Performance metrics (app/site launch time, screen rendering speed).
  • Device type and Operating System version.
  • Basic usage events (e.g., "App/Site Opened", "Settings Changed", page views).

We Do NOT Collect:

  • Your GPS coordinates or tracks.
  • Your name, email, or phone number.
  • Unique device identifiers that can track you across other apps (Advertising ID).

Android Permissions

To function correctly, GNSS Commander requires specific permissions. Here is why we ask for them:

  • Location (Fine/Coarse): Required to access the GNSS chip and display your coordinates.
  • Background Location: Required only if you wish to record tracks while the screen is off or the app is minimized.
  • Notifications: Used to show the foreground service status (so you know the app is running/recording) and alerts.

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party service for infrastructure:

  • Google Firebase: Used for Hosting, Crashlytics (crash reporting) and Analytics. Privacy Policy

Advertising

GNSS Commander is an Ad-Free experience. We do not display third-party advertisements, nor do we sell your data to advertisers.
